Dr. Kilian Bälz is the managing partner of the Berlin office. He divides his time between AMERELLER’s Berlin, Cairo, and Tripoli offices.

He focuses his practice on projects and finance. Kilian has broad experience in advising clients on debt and equity investments in the energy, transportation, telecom, and financial sectors across the Middle East (including Iran) and North Africa. He further represents clients in arbitration proceedings.

Before joining AMERELLER as partner in 2010, Kilian was a partner at Gleiss Lutz and the acting director of the Regional Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency, a regional policy platform supporting renewable energies based in Cairo. He publishes widely on Middle Eastern business law and is a regular speaker at conferences. In 2008, he was a fellow at Harvard Law School.
