Our Baghdad office has been established since 2003, being the first international law firm to establish a presence in postwar Iraq. It is a full-service office advising local and international corporate clients, government authorities as well as nongovernmental organizations in all areas of commercial and corporate law.
The office is staffed with a team of locally admitted lawyers, many of whom are ranked by the leading international publications as leaders in the Iraqi legal market. We have advised major international companies and IOC’s on their entry strategy to Iraq and continue to provide advice on all day-to-day matters. We represent some of the biggest oil and gas companies operating in Iraq.
The Baghdad practice also advises on major transactions in Iraq including project finance, M&A and infrastructure projects. In addition to legal advice, our team in Iraq has a litigationpractice with a remarkable record extending back to the last decade. We regularly act as Iraqi law experts in foreign courts and international arbitration proceedings. Our Baghdad team often liaises with local authorities on behalf of our clients.
